SUMMARY
A thick encrusting to massive amorphous sponge; black to tan externally. Tough, firm, and cartilaginous with a smooth and slimy surface. Oscules, when visible, are 0.2 - 1 cm in diameter. Common in reefs and lagoons throughout the Caribbean.
